日本生まれ、日米行ったり来たり育ち。日英トランスレーター・劇作家・俳優として、身体を通して言葉の間を揺れ動いている。2021年に東京芸術祭ファーム Farm-Lab Exhibitionにてアートトランスレーターアシスタントを修了後、フリーランスの通訳翻訳者としてアート業界で活動を開始。逐次通訳、同時通訳、日英翻訳、文芸翻訳、字幕制作、校正（プルーフリーディング）など幅広く対応する。演劇活動では、『Tokyo Rose A New Musical』(英国Burnt Lemon Theatre Co.)にドラマトゥルグ・日本文化コンサルタントに参加し、米国の演劇批評家プログラム BIPOC Critics Lab（米国）に第2期生として選抜。2021年ウェレズリー大学英文学部卒業、2019年ナショナル・シアター・インスティテュート俳優コース修了。2024年度映画美学校アクターズコース修了。2014年度UWC日本協会派遣奨学生。

Haruka Ueda (she/her) is writer-actor-translator based in Tokyo. She began translating and interpreting after gaining hands-on experience and receiving mentorship as an Art Translator Assistant at the Tokyo Festival Farm-Lab Exhibition in 2021. She is available for consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, Japanese-to-English translation, literary translation, subtitling, proofreading etc. She has also served as a dramaturg and Japanese cultural consultant with Tokyo Rose A New Musical (Burnt Lemon Theatre Co.) and was selected for the second cohort of the theater criticism program, BIPOC Critics Lab. She holds a BA in English from Wellesley College, where she received the Mary Lyons Prize for Writing, the Youngren Memorial Award for Critical Reading, and the Paul R. Barstow Award for Theatrical Excellence. She trained in acting at the National Theater Institute at the O’Neill, and The Film School of Tokyo, and is a proud alum of UWC-USA.
