Yume Morimoto

2021年に国際基督教大学大学院メディアと言語の博士前期課程取得。東京を拠点に日英の翻訳通訳をしながらジェンダーと表彰文化を中心に研究や執筆活動を行なっている。2017年にクィア性やインターセクショナルフェミニズムをテーマにした日英バイリンガルジンB.G.U.を自身で立ち上げ、現在も編集⻑として制作中。2020年に東京芸術祭APAFにてアートトランスレーターアシスタントとして参加してから通訳者と翻訳者として様々なプロジェクトに関わる。2021年には国際交流基金マニラから助成を受け「フェミニスト的翻訳」の可能性を見出すアートプロジェクト『Performing Translations: Exploring Feminist Theater Pedagogies』を共同発表。2022年 Farm Lab Exhibition プログラム作品『「クィア」で「アジア人」であることとは』ではコミュニケーションデザインと通訳を担当。活動の中では社会運動 、アート、翻訳を繋げることに重きを置く。
Yume Morimoto is a queer translator, writer, and researcher working at the intersections of art, activism, and academia. She received her M.A. in Media and Language Analysis from International Christian University in 2021 and became a member of Art Translators Collective in the same year. In 2017, she launched B.G.U., a bilingual zine centered on queerness and intersectional feminism. In 2020, she participated as an Art Translator Assistant in the Asian Performing Arts Farm. Since then she has interpreted and translated for many projects. Her recent projects include “Performing Translations: Exploring Feminist Theater Pedagogies” supported by Japan Foundation Manila and presented in 2021. She was also a Communication Design Team Member and interpreter for the Tokyo Festival Farm Lab Exhibition performance, “What does it mean to be ‘Queer’ and ‘Asian’?”
