1993年東京生まれ。京都在住。2015年米国ベニントン大学卒業。在学中はビジュアルアート、衣裳デザインの他、英文学、第二言語習得理論、批判理論など幅広く学ぶ。2014年、建築家／デザイナー、アントニオ・スカルポーニ氏の『ELIOOO』を翻訳。2015年、スイス・アーツ・カウンシル Pro Helvetia からの助成を受け、スカルポーニ氏来日をコーディネート。第７回太郎吉蔵デザイン会議基調講演、札幌市立大学での講義の日英同時通訳、英日逐次通訳を担当。2016年から2018年まで東京藝術大学グローバルアートプラクティス専攻の助手として海外の美術大学との共同授業運営をサポート。2019年より京都精華大学伝統産業イノベーションセンターにて国内外の手仕事に関わる研究プロジェクトをコーディネート。2012年に布作品のブランド「Kione’s」を立ち上げ、現在も制作を続ける。

Born 1993 in Tokyo, Kione graduated from Bennington College in 2015 with a focus in Visual Arts and Garment Construction. In addition to her concentration in the arts, she studied literature, Second Language and Culture Acquisition, and critical theory. She translated the book ELIOOO written by architect and designer, Antonio Scarponi of Conceptual Devices (Zürich, Switzerland) into Japanese in 2014. In the following year, she received a Knowledge Exchange grant from Pro Helvetia (Swiss Arts Council) to invite Scarponi to Japan and worked as an interpreter (Japanese/English simultaneous and consecutive) for his talks at the seventh Tarokichigura Design Conference and Sapporo City University. Between 2016-2018, she worked as an education and research assistant for the Global Art Practice MFA at Tokyo University of the Arts, coordinating international joint courses with art schools abroad. Kione currently lives in Kyoto and works as a research coordinator at the Center for Innovation in Traditional Industries at Kyoto Seika University, while continuing her creative practice as an artist and maker for her handmade fabric goods brand, Kione’s.
