2012年バード大学映像・電子芸術科卒業。ビデオ制作や映画史に加え、数学、哲学、フランス文学を学ぶ。2018年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科修了。翻訳における解釈と忠実性のせめぎ合いに最も関心を寄せる。それは本質的には創造的な行為であるものの、元となる文章の書き手と使用される言語の構造的な制限によって厳密に引かれた既存の境界線なくしては起こり得ない。
Lillian graduated in 2012 with a BA in Film and Electronic Arts from Bard College, where in addition to video production and cinema history she studied mathematics, philosophy, and French literature. She received her MFA from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018. Her interest in translation lies primarily in the balancing act that emerges between interpretation and fidelity — an essentially creative act that nevertheless only occurs within a strict set of previously delineated boundaries, set both by the author of the source text and the structural requirements of the languages in question.
